News from our first Volunteer in Nepal:

Renee, our volunteer in Nepal sent some lovely pictures as the kids gear up for the start of a new semester at school. She says:
KidsShreeM“600 kids all looking healthy and beautiful in their uniforms. Some of the girls are still knitting but not much time now and same with the gardening. The aunties have been quick to step in and help me though. Chhimi is great … always looking after me and getting me what I need. Hopefully other kids will volunteer so the work can be split up. I hope this project will continue. More than 30 of them crowd around and want to help whenever they see me.”
Great Work Renee!! If you are interested in learning more about volunteering in Nepal contact georginavarveris@gmail.com. Namaste.

We sent all the money collected from our karma classes, laughter yoga, and our donation workshop revenue for the months of February and March, 2011 to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Please continue to send love and compassion to the Earth and people, animals and all beings that have been affected. Know that your conscious prayers and visualization of healing make a difference! We raised more than $800 for Doctors Without Borders.

For the months of August & September 2010 our Monday Night Karma Class’ (7-8:30 @ 1461 Venables) donations were sent to the Red Cross to help the victims of the floods in Pakistan. The Canadian Government was also matching donations dollar for dollar so thank you for helping us raise more than $200 dollars.

We have been involved in helping many companies which are fund raising for the United Way Drive thru silent auctions and give aways. Open Door has contributed many free passes and gift certificates in support of this international agency’s aid efforts this month
