Greenest City Babies
Thursday, Oct 12, 2017
Time: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
Location: Commercial Drive
Greenest City Babies is a chance for caregivers to exchange information about sustainable ways to take care of babies 0-18 months, inspired by the City of Vancouver’s Greenest City Action Plan. Each discussion will focus on a particular goal from the Action Plan. Participation is free, thanks to the support of the Vancouver Foundation and the Greenest City Neighbourhood Small Grants.
Zero Waste and Clean Water: diapers, natural infant hygiene and potty training, lending libraries, etc
Green Transportation and Clean Air: choosing carriers for walking, cycling and using public transit with babies
Green Economy: local businesses that make sustainable living easier (consignment stores, diaper services, lending libraries, baby gear rentals, bicycle delivery services, etc)
Esther Berube is an environmental engineer and a happy new mom of a 4-month-old baby. She is excited to share her experience with reducing diaper waste, and learn about how to cycle with her baby as soon as possible. As an avid yoga practitioner, she is also keen to share information about ergonomic baby carriers for sustainable walks for caregivers, babies, and the planet.
