Location: Commercial Drive
Aerial yoga, also called suspension yoga or anti-gravity yoga, uses a hammock (yoga swing) to support the practice of traditional Hatha yoga poses. The yoga swing is considered a yoga prop, similar to a yoga strap or block that can assist alignment and even help you decompress or find more length in your spine. The hammock can allow you to perform postures that you may not ordinarily be able to attempt on the yoga mat. Aerial yoga is an accessible practice that is open to participants of all ages and abilities.
Cori Woolfe is excited to be able to share her love of aerial arts and yoga together in this Aerial yoga workshop. An experienced yogi, gymnastics and aerial silks instructor, Cori’s philosophy is to support people in feeling good about their bodies.
She started practicing aerial arts when her youngest daughter was 4 years old and has been practicing Aerial Acrobatics for over 15 years. She developed a system of instructing aerial silks that was more accessible to beginners.
She is grateful to Open Door yoga for the opportunity to introduce aerial yoga to a broader audience.
