Headstand Workshop

Saturday, Oct 5, 2019

Time: 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Location: Main & 14

Turn your world upside down!

Headstand (sirsasana) is considered the “king” of all yoga poses for its many benefits to the body and mind. In this workshop, learn how to come into the headstand pose systematically and safely via eight steps.

We will cover the physical and spiritual benefits of sirsasana, review preparatory exercises, how to practice half-headstand, moving away from the wall, and how to come down with control. This is a small workshop in order for participants to benefit from individual instruction and assistance – register early! All levels welcome 🙂

Facilitator’s Bio

My journey into yoga began at a young age, when I found my grandmother standing on her head early one morning – she taught yoga at the Sivananda centre in Montreal from its inception, and of course was my first yoga teacher. I have maintained a steady personal practice since 2007. In 2010 I headed to the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in Val Morin for teacher training.

My goal is to hold space for a calm, meditative environment in which to explore the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga.

I practice yoga to help create and maintain peace within myself, and I teach yoga to share this peace practice with others. May you leave class feeling both energized and fully reee-laaaxed!! Much gratitude to my wonderful teachers near and far who continue to inspire me in daily life. OM Namah Sivaya!
