Get ready mentally, physically and emotionally for birthing and beyond with prenatal yoga.Enjoy a nurturing yoga class that will leave you feeling rested and re-energized. The practice of yoga will bring your body, mind and breath together in a way that will help you prepare mentally, physically and emotionally for the challenges of childbirth and beyond ( parenthood). You’ll also get meet other mamas in your hood. These classes are tailored to support your changing body and the hi’s and lo’s of pregnancy. We focus on breathing, postures, meditations & visualizations topped off with a healthy dose of relaxation.

A regular yoga practice fosters a deeper awareness within you, and reminds you of your vast inner resources, creating a sense of inner calm and balance that is beneficial to you and your babe’s well being… isn’t it nice to know that as you take care of yourself, you’re also taking care your growing baby.

Facilitator’s Bio

Nadine loves to teach yoga because of the joy she feels when practising and imparting that experience to her students. She is also thankful to her students for the wisdom and energy they bring to class.Her classes range from a strong to a gentle physical practice with a focus on alignment and always promoting balance, self-awareness and JOY. She enjoys drawing on the many wonderful teachings and aspects of yoga styles she has experienced over the past decade to enhance her classes.

Nadine became a 200 hour certified yoga teacher of Flow Yoga Studio in 2006 and then graduated from Sanga Yoga’s TIP Program and has been teaching ever since. She wishes to acknowledge all the teachers who inspired her along the way. Currently she studies with Sandra Sammartino and Padma.

She continues to study and be amazed by all that yoga has brought to her life. In addition to being a yoga teacher she is an artist and professional photographer…Being captivated by the process of drawing out beauty from within she can be seen on or off the mat capturing life’s beautiful moments in stillness.

Who may attend:
Any pregnant woman at any stage of pregnancy is welcome to attend- its never too late- its never too early. It is always advisable to check in with your care provider (doctor/midwife) to see if yoga is suitable for you at this time.

Investment:
The class is run as a session workshop series. You may sign for the full series and save, or drop-in. Because pass prices are prorated weekly you can still join us after the first class and enjoy the convenience and savings of a prenatal pass.

Students holding a current unlimited Open Door Yoga pass receive and extra 40% off the pass and drop-in fee. Classes will run each week except statutory holidays or if otherwise noted.

Location:
Prenatal yoga on Sundays is held at our Commercial Drive location across from Home Hardware (Graveley St. at Commercial Dr.). Please note that the entrance on Sundays is from the side entrance on Graveley Street. Look for the Open Door Yoga Sandwich board.
