Nikki LeClair

Nikki

Nikki’s mission is to foster a healing space in her work by upholding the values of sustainability, peace, community, reciprocity, harmony, and growth. Each class is curated to strengthen the connection to one’s inner wisdom, empowering students to live heart centered, meaningful lives. Nikki’s teachings are grounded in the intention to practice yoga beyond the postures with invitations to reflect on bringing yoga into daily life.

Applying a kinesiology and pilates informed lens, Nikki guides students through asana (posture) sequences that prioritize accessibility and safety with modifications and close attention to the biomechanics of each unique body. Her holistic approach to teaching develops one’s physical practice with opportunities to reflect on the spiritual lessons each yoga posture offers. Nikki inspires students to embody presence and equanimity by emphasizing pranayama (breath) and dhyana (meditation) as the foundation to a hatha practice.

Certified in Trauma Informed Yoga through Yoga Outreach, Nikki applies a trauma informed lens to foster a safe, empowering, and inclusive space for all abilities, identities, and cultural backgrounds. Inspired by her lived and living experience of chronic pain and disability, Nikki is pursuing her Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia to refine her holistic approach to healing the body and mind. Valuing movement as medicine, Nikki graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia. Trained in various styles of dance and theatre, Nikki’s creative background shines through her intentional creation of each offering. Integrating elements from her training in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and Deep Meditation, each class is adaptively curated to best serve who she guides.

Last year, Nikki served as a karma yogi at Yasodhara Ashram for two months. This life changing experience strengthened her connection to the Saraswati Lineage, which has become her primary spiritual practice. She enjoys regularly co-facilitating Satsangs, and attending Kirtans, Fire Ceremonies, and Ecstatic Dances within her spiritual community to continue to feed her soul!
